New
Findings on Incentives Guiding Health Plan, Employer, and Employee
Behavior to be Discussed October 2
News
Advisory:
On
Monday, October 2, the Changes in Health Care Financing and Organization
(HCFO, www.hcfo.net) program --- an initiative
of The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation --- will host a meeting to
disseminate research findings that shed light on the synergies of
purchasing, enrollment, and coverage design that take place among
stakeholders when making decisions in a restricted competitive purchasing
pool.
Media
are invited to attend.
Kenneth
E. Thorpe, Ph.D., of Emory University, will discuss his HCFO-funded
research on the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP),
and Thomas C. Buchmueller, Ph.D., will use the early findings from
his HCFO study to address issues related to enrollment and disenrollment
by employees enrolled in the University of California's defined
contribution coverage system.
The
meeting will not only serve to disseminate the findings from the
two studies, but will also provide a forum to discuss, with the
help of policy and insurance market experts, what they mean for
the employer-based insurance system, the uninsured, and the market.
